The unprecedented flood in river MAHANANDI has created havoc & fear psychosis in the minds of the people. Lack of preparedness has been the biggest factor, for which the Rescue & Relief work could not be intensified in the flood ravaged areas. Even the Sub-Collector admits the fact that they could not imagined that flood could be so severe. The administration doesn’t have sufficient boats at its disposal. There are several areas, which are still inaccessible. Relief work could not be properly coordinated.
People are facing difficulties in several fronts. There is acute drinking water crises as all the water sources have been polluted by the flood water. There is chaos in every where. Even some antisocial elements have looted the relief materials from the go-down of Block-2 (Banki-Domopara, Block). Flood water is receding but slowly.
Cooked foods are being supplied to the people with the help of NAC. We have contributed financial help from our side to arrange the cooking gas for this. I am providing all posiible physical, mental & financial from our side ,that could have been done in this situation
